Heard in the Trenches (in French, Ooh La la!)

Kolbi has been begging for braids for days now but I have declined repeatedly for reasons of sanity. Finally I relented today. I asked her if she wanted french braids or regular. Since she couldn't understand the difference I created a french braid for her on one side of her head. As I'm weaving her hair, she's says, "Ow! . . . Ow! . . . Mom! I'm serious . . .Ow! . . . these must be for French girls only . . . Ow! . . . Cause these are killing me!"

HE DID IT!!!!!!!!!

He finally did it. . . .

After:
  • 3 years
  • one big mortgage, and a house that we'll be lucky to sell for a decent price (but it will happen)
  • one new monkey added to the brood (Zoe was born here)
  • 47 . . . .oh, wait . . . make that 49 new tics (those are mine)
  • a half-a-head of gray hair (those are his)
  • a mountain of school loan debt (acceptable for pursuing a degree right)
  • a slew of priceless new friendships and connections (yes, that includes you!)
  • 3 fabulous summers enjoying the amenity center pools
  • loads of blood, sweat, tears, and mental anguish
  • more knowledge than can be learned by the average person (that's Chris's)
  • and an infinite number of incredible memories . . .
HE DID IT!!!!! Chris walked the big walk . . . wore the fancy gown . . . took the many pictures . . . posed with the fake diploma . . . said the Chiropractic oath . . . and officially GRADUATED from Parker College of Chiropractic!!!! Can I get a Woot! Woot?!

Sick-kid-pity-party

I'm throwing an I have sick kiddos pity-party today! Anyone want to come? If you supply the cheese, there's plenty of Whine around here to go with it! Unfortunately (and I know this will come as a GREAT shock to some) I have zippo patience for the extra whining, "Mom-mee, I neeeed you!s" and the hanging on my leg. Although, I do appreciate that both of my kiddos actually requested to take a nap yesterday. Um, Heck yea!! Okay. I'm through whining now. Go about your business.

What's seriously kicking my booty!

LAUNDRY!!!!

As some of you may know, we've been packing up a lot of stuff and prepping the house to look fabulous for selling. I've been busier than usual with said projects, plus 4 kiddos, a husband who's in the throws of studying for his final and biggest board test ("Down with part IV!!!"), book reports (Kolbi's, yuck!), well you get the picture . . . . my point is, basically . . . I'm a big whiner!

Anyhoo, laundry has kind of fallen by the wayside, and in a house of 6, that means we've been buried in laundry. And let me tell you, someone has a stinky sock problem in this household!! Uh, Not pretty!

Yesterday and today have been laundry catch-up day. It's a good thing my little washer and dryer are such clydesdale work horses trapped in a shetland pony body (Boy do I ever dream of those lovely, spacious front loaders where you can wash a jillion pairs of jeans, all the towels in the house and a mattress at the same time!) These poor things are moaning and puffing, "I think I can! I think I can!"

Sadly, these pictures don't even represent all of the laundry stuck in individual laundry baskets. On a Pollyanna side note . . . we are truly blessed to have enough clothes to prevent unwanted nudity in our house. (although certain members of this household are perfectly pleased with the skin they're in and prefer to show it off with a few well-placed accessories rather than cover it up with frivolous drapings and trappings).

Poor Aiden can attest that mom sometimes gets in these overzealous "modes" (i.e., laundry mode, dishwashing mode, hair-cutting mode, etc.) and if you get in her way . . . well, it's your funeral.

What makes me fall off my chair laughing . . .

Two words . . . The Office.

I just can't get enough!
